The mission of the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) is to foster animal and human health, while preserving the human-animal bond, through recommendations for the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of parasitic infections.
Despite the availability of effective treatments, parasites remain a common fact of life for dogs and cats. Most companion animals have the potential for contact with parasites multiple times a day, all year long.
As an owner and caregiver, you have the opportunity to maintain the health of your pet and your family through simple prevention measures. Some of the parasites that infect your animal may infect people. By following the recommendations of your veterinarian, you can avoid unnecessary suffering for your pet and potential health concerns for your family.
Forever Friends Pet Hospital supports CAPC recommendations.
