Roxy came into our life when she was exactly 49 days old.

She was the runt of a beautiful Labrador litter, from a small family kennel in West Virginia.

We picked her because of her apparent intelligence, boldness, and ... because she retrieved a feather from

some tall grass near the place we were "puppy testing" her littermates.

Forever Friends dedicated its training room to the memory of Roxy.

A naturally sweet and gentle dog, we enrolled her in puppy class as soon as we brought her home, and then in

family dog class, and then basic and advanced obedience.

Roxy proved to us why puppy and obedience classes are SO awesome!

We made sure (and do to this day) to encourage every one of our clients to take their pups to school, too.

We wish every pet parent to experience the incredible bond that happens when you learn with

your companion how to communicate and how to have fun together (with good manners!).

In part because Roxy was so well socialized through her various school experiences,

she got along with all sorts of other animals and people.

She would always let another dog or cat eat out of her food dish before eating herself.

Quincy, our orange many-toed cat, was one of her favorite companions.

Extremely anxious to please and obedient, Roxy never destroyed any of our possessions.

Intelligent and responsive, she was an excellent hunting companion and gun dog.

She earned her AKC Companion Dog Certificate, an AKC Junior Hunter title, her

working dog certificate, and a Canadian obedience title, too.

We hope every family experiences a pet relationship as good as the one we had with Roxy.

We miss her very much.
