Forever Friends places a priority on Pet and People education. That's why we made plenty of room for the Roxy Memorial Training Center.

The best way to train dogs is with love, encouragement and praise. Learn how to gently guide and correct your companion's behavior in a way that both you and your dog will enjoy.

Pet training is fun and personally rewarding. Forever Friends offers ongoing Puppy Preschool, Obedience and Agility training. Call 440-926-3231 extension 2 for times and registration.

    Obedience Education and Training

Get started early. Learn how to effectively and kindly teach your dog manners of which you can both be proud. Avoid behavior problems before they start by understanding how dogs think and creating a learning environment in which your relationship will thrive.

Enjoy the company and companionship of a well-mannered, well-trained pet whereever you go!

Forever Friends currently offers two levels of Dog Obedience Training classes.

Level One Obedience Education and Training is ideal for dogs as young as six weeks old and for dogs who have never been formally trained. This class builds the foundation for good behavior. Learn appropriate canine communication skills and master basic obedience commands. Get advice about common puppy-raising issues, like housebreaking and how to avoid whining, begging, jumping and other undesirable behaviors.

After Level One training, you can expect your dog to come when called, walk on a leash and respond to these commands:

  • Heel
  • Lay down
  • Sit
  • Come
  • Watch me
  • Down & Stay

Level Two Obedience Education and Training builds on the foundation skills learned in level one. This course includes off-leash training. You will learn how to better read your pet's body language and have fun with your dog as he or she masters level two skills.

Agility Training

If you are looking for advanced classes, enroll your dog in Agility Training for competition and tons of enjoyment and exercise!

Your dog must be at least 12 months old to compete in Agility competitions, but you can usually begin training upon completion of Level Two Obedience Training.

Your dog will start with small versions of the regular agility equipment ramps, jumps and obstacles.

Once your dog masters the small scale equipment, the size of the ramps, jumps and challenges will be gradually increased until your pet is comfortable on the full-size competitive equipment.

Your companion and you work as a team to master                   Agility Instructor Elaine Mayher's D.J.

jump sequences, obstacles, turns, speed, and                                         jumps joyfully in competition

other course challenges.

Your dog will learn to use the following equipment in the agility class:

      • Pipe Tunnels
      • Weave Poles
      • A-Frame
      • Dog Walk
      • Collapsed Tunnel
      • Pause Table
      • Tire or Hoop Jump
      • See-Saw
      • Other various types of jumps

Not every dog is suitable for agility training. Consult with your veterinarian before you enroll your pet in this physically demanding course. Your veterinarian can assist you in determining the proper level for your pet's ability, age, and physical condition.
